He transferred his allegiance from UKIP to the Conservatives when the Conservatives elected Boris as their leader and Boris said he would "get Brexit done". Boris, therefore can do no wrong or harm for Dave. This is like a real life incarnation of the story Gollum and the Ring, in which Gollum seizes the Ring (his precious) from Frodo Baggins at the Cracks of Doom in Mordor, and then falls into the volcano, in which he and and the Ring are both destroyed. Dave plays Gollum. Brexit is the ring (his precious). And maybe, just maybe, Brexit is also the all destroying volcano. Anything, real or fictitious, that threatens the integrity of Boris, and through him Brexit, must therefore be resisted and discredited, if only by calling those who criticise him silly names to make the threats look less real - like one who whistles in the dark. There are no individuals here, just the lumpen mass of LOSERS, who are all the same because they doubt Brexit (his precious) and so become a mass incarnation of Frodo Baggins. It is amazing what foresight J. R. R. Tolkien had.
