Bulletguy
Malc recently commented in a thread about not taking social media seriously which admittedly, there is a lot of junk spread by sm....but an example of where it does have it's use was highlighted on this mornings news. Quite fascinating what came about....all from not being able to open a desk, but when she did, read what happened next. https://news.sky.com/story/charity-donations-pour-in-after-woman-finds-order-of-service-in-desk-11911407 And donations have exceeded their £25k target and continue to pour in. https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/debbieroberts21
malc d
Not sure why this thread is addressed to me as I have never written anything about crowd funding on social media. I have at some time said that people shouldn't rely on social media as a reliable source of " news " - but that is of course an entirely different subject. :-|
Bulletguy
It was just something i heard on BBC news (yesterday) which made me think social media does have a good side when used properly and i just thought about your comment on sm which incidentally i agreed with, so apologies for any confusion. Smartphone tech has seen a rise in sm, some bad and obviously pushing an agenda or narrative, but also some very good like the linked article.
