The problem you have got is that everyone with an ounce of common sense knows that Doris and Co are proven liars and cheats. So no they are not going to fall into his little trap of "promising" an election before we leave, only for him to change the date of the election after parliament votes under the FTPA.

That's the problem with liars, after a while everybody knows that they cannot be trusted.

Nope, he / we the people, want an election - we're just not going to fall into Doris's trap. Simple solution is that the election date is set in legislation.

The real irony is that if Doris does get an election he could easily lose his Uxbridge seat, his little jaunt out of the country when the Heathrow expansion vote was going on did not go down to well with his already slim majority.

Even sweeter still.....an Iranian immigrant is his rival. (lol)

Apparently the reason why Doris is so keen to deselect so many tories is to create a safe seat he can stand in.

Seeing as the only thing the majority of the public agree on is they want Brexit over ;-) ...........

The only party that can achieve that is the now United Eurosceptic Tories B-) .........

As Pat referred....a pyrrhic victory. Look it up.

You don't know what the majority of the public want, only what you want. I suspect the outcome of a peoples vote would be very different to that of 2016 given everyone now knows much more than they did three years back.

Its the obvious answer isnt it? If the people what Brexit over quickly then the best thing to do is to remain as this is only the start. Even if we leave we will be straight back at the negotiating table. The WA will still need to be signed, the Irish border problem will still need to be resolved, the money we owe to the EU will still need to be paid (or some of it) before a deal is struck and trade deal negotiations will go on for decades. Its not just one trade deal per country either. There are currently about 700 we have via the EU. At one a month it will take 56 years.

All this will go on and on and on while feck all else important gets taken care of.

The people need to know this and then the simple thing to do is to just fess up and say "we cant find a way forward, its no deal or remain, what do you want to do?" and let the people decide on those two options.

Boris the Bulldozer V Corbyn the Bullsh*tter.........Bring it on >:-) .......

None of those results are enough to get a majority though and we all know what happened in 2017. Of course you have to factor in that it could be November by the time the election comes and if Boris has failed to deliver Brexit what will that do to the result? Will he even still be PM by then?
