Quelle surprise......hypocrite posts links from a right wing rag whose very foundations are built on hypocrisy, and owned by a self serving tax dodging fake 'non--dom' hypocrite. *-)

Kick the parasites out.

In 2013, Private Eye reported that Viscount Rothermere falsely claims non-dom status, in order to avoid paying tax on his stately home, Ferne House. This move saves him several millions of pounds in tax annually.

As for Rothermere, I’m not just astonished at the man’s brazen hypocrisy in falsely claiming non-dom status for himself while his organ lambasts the indigent poor for scrounging. I’m also amazed at the way this government closed, or planned to close, one of rights of immigrants working in the UK.

THE 4th Viscount Rothermere, also known as Jonathan Harmsworth, owner of the Daily Mail, loves England so much that he spends much of his time living as a tax exile in France. He is so in love with this country that he hides his riches in the world's tax havens and shelters in order to avoid tax.

France has quite high Taxes, so explain to me how he can be a 'tax exile' there?

So by extension French Bureaucrats are more corrupt than British ones, otherwise he would be doing it over here. It would seem that corruption happens in the glorious EU ... quelle surprise. 8-)

By domiciling his companies in Her Unelected Majesty's Tax Haven of Bermuda: https://beastrabban.wordpress.com/2015/01/27/from-private-eye-lord-rothermeres-non-dom-tax-scam/

The super-rich being able to lawfully avoid tax has consequences beyond the poor having to pay more. Its the reason our roads are crap, our police are too busy to investigate burglaries, people are being found 'fit for work' in the week they die from their illness, we can't get an NHS dentist, doctors appointment, or hospital appointment for months if at all, and then our visitors have to pay for parking - in hospital car parks and everywhere else when it used to be free...

Further to what both John and i linked which explains what Rothermere has been up to, French tax laws differ to UK. As for corruption that flourishes among the wealthy in UK and you'd have to be pretty naive to pretend it didn't. It's not exclusive by country....just by wealth and power.

One of the major differences between income tax in France and income tax in the UK is that, unlike in the UK, income tax in France is calculated based on the household income – not the individual’s.

Two and Two make Five in your mind it would seem.

There is less Tax revenue because successive Governments have taken more and more people out of Income Tax by raising the thresholds and reducing the rate of Tax. I don't agree with these tax havens but their impact is virtually nothing when compared to the figures no longer generated in Income Tax.
