I am sure my fellow Chatterbox members will join me in condemning this terrible act by far right thugs on a respected journalist who was simply out enjoying his Birthday with friends. Some of our members were clearly horrified over milkshakes being thrown at the likes of Nigel Farage so this is going to be extremely shocking for them to read. This attack could easily have led to a fatality.

My Grandsons pal is in Hospital after an unprovoked attack in Newcastle City Centre last night. The 2 strangers responsible also made a 'beeline' to him.

Even he admitted that it was a stupid thing to do and I'm delighted that, amongst other things he got, that he lost his job. It's not as bad as a kick in the head but it's still bad. Politicians of all shades should be able to go about their jobs without physical harassment of any kind. It really is a short step from milk shakes to knives and guns. From Farage to Jo Cox.
