StuartO
Therese Coffey, who happens to be our MP as well as being the Work & Pensions Secretary, got herself into a bit of bother yesterday by answering a question a bit too honestly - in a way which journalists could make an exaggerated interpretation of, which led to Downing Street disowning her remarks and praising their chosen scientific and medical advisers. Hey ho such is the perilous life of a politician and why they have to learn to be so guarded. Not that I'm a particular fan of hers and I was a bit surprised thatshe survived the last reshuffle. You never know how much of this sort of episode is pre-planned and set piece spin, in this case perhaps to give Downing St an opportunity to swear by their advisers, who've been getting some stick recently.
