Of course I am certain there will be a large element there that would never vote for someone no matter how good they are because of what sex and colour they are. Its not that long ago, in our lifetime even that the human rights act was finally passed. America was a terribly racist country just a few decades ago with segregation, lynchings even and appalling treatment of blacks. Do you seriously think all that has changed in such a short time?
