He's been Tory throughout his political career and the longest serving Speaker since 1943. Brexiters are just bitter losers because he hasn't kowtowed and danced to their tune.

Ha ha! And if he'd been as partisan in favour of the Brexiteers you'd have been your usual vitriolic self.

He's a disgrace. No speaker has ever been as blatantly one-sided as this appalling clown.

Wasnt Bercrow in a remain seat? He was due to pack in anyway soon.

It's funny how many Remoaner MP's are standing down at the next election ;-) ........

The cowards obviously know they're in for a kicking in the ballot boxes >:-) ........

I suspect Bercrow has stood down because there is now little danger of an early election so his replacement will be chosen by a moderate parliament not Boris and his Death Eater Government, he was going anyway but now it will probably be someone from labour and probably a remainer so maybe a shrewd move.

He refused to stand down when his term was up (the first to do so). You could tell he was not impartial by his announcement to step down. He got rapturous applause from the Opposition benches and virtual silence from the Tory benches.

Apparently he could end up as caretaker PM now. Just putting that out there. B-)

I can see Corbyn voting for that (lol) .........

This, of course, is a totally unbiased view! :-D If he'd been that bad, he would have been "eased" out years ago. His problem is that he has admirably maintained neutrality in an extraordinarily difficult period, in pursuit of the sovereignty of parliament. That, to the extreme Tory "thinker" becomes an act of an outright left-wing Quisling. To normal folk, it just reflects what we voted for. The political extremist always sees the political centre ground as being on the opposite side of the political centre ground. :-D

Bercows ' sin ' is that he stood up for the backbench MPs ( who best represent the people ) against the cliques that want to run the country ( such as the ERG group ).

Those who would prefer an elected dictatorship don't like that.

"Labour accepts the referendum result"

Quit squirming. Replying to Malcs post you accused Bercow of siding with MP's who you say lied to get elected by saying they would respect the result of the referendum. You haven't been able to show proof of that anywhere.....it's just your own opinion of any MP who doesn't support your silly Brexit. Of course what we do have plenty of proof of is Johnsons endless lies.....that many he's a pathological liar, yet you're ok with that because he's promised to deliver your bonkers Brexit. So did the previous PM. (lol)

By the way, accepting a result does not mean you cannot ever disagree with it or even argue for change......just as this Tory MP quoted;

That's democracy changing it's mind after everyone woke up to the lies and misinformation used by Brexit to subvert democracy. Damn nuisance eh? If only you'd had your dictatorship in place first.
