"Britain’s economy would be tipped into a year-long recession, with at least 500,000 jobs lost and GDP around 3.6% lower, following a vote to leave the EU, new Treasury analysis launched today by the Prime Minister and Chancellor shows."

Oh yeah and this (lol) ..........

"After two years GDP would be 6% lower and 800,000 UK jobs would be lost, compared to a vote to remain. The value of the pound would fall by 15% and there would be a further increase in inflation of 2.7 percentage points, with a hit to the value of people’s homes of 18%."

Boris Johnson and his acolytes are spouting untruths and lies virtually every time they open their mouths. Here are 12 of the worst.

‘Get Brexit done’ is the biggest lie

There are at least eight reasons why voting for the Tories won’t put an end to Brexit. The fastest way to move on from Brexit is to kick the Tories out, call a referendum and stop Brexit.

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/sep/14/britain-delay-some-post-brexit-border-controls-brexit-covid

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2021/sep/13/uk-government-threatens-to-suspend-northern-ireland-protocol

Of course, the EU doesn’t stop us planting trees

This is a Michael Gove slur. The EU actually provides cash to encourage tree-planting. Our government just doesn’t use it.

We don’t need to leave the EU to scrap the tampon tax

The Prime Minister wrongly cites the tampon tax as a reason for Brexit. The EU wants to change the VAT regime to allow a zero rate for sanitary products.

EU migrants aren’t scrounging on the NHS

EU citizens living in the UK contribute more to the public finances than Brits – and we get the right to use other EU countries’ health systems too. What’s unfair about that?

No fish quotas? Pull the other one.

Johnson claims we’ll take back control of our marine wealth. But he has agreed with the EU to aim for a new fisheries agreement including quotas by July.

EU migration isn’t nearly as big as non-EU migration

Migration from the EU is only a fifth as big as the non-EU flow. Given that Johnson is weaponising migration, it’s odd he doesn’t know the basic facts.

Live animal pledge ain’t what it seems

Examine the Prime Minister’s weasel words and he isn’t actually promising to abolish the live transport of animals. What’s more, we can tighten the current rules without quitting the EU.

Nope, our rights aren’t guaranteed

Johnson claims his Withdrawal Agreement protects worker and consumer rights, and environmental standards. It doesn’t.

Brexit won’t make us safer

We’ll be less safe if we don’t keep EU crime-fighting tools – and much of Priti Patel’s five-point plan to make us safer can be implemented without Brexit.

Freeports aren’t a reason for Brexit

We can create freeports without quitting the EU. Whether that’s wise is another matter. Margaret Thatcher tried and they weren’t a great success.

Tidal wave of investment? Another pipedream.

Foreign firms have cut investment fearing we’ll lose access to the EU market. The only way to get a tidal wave is to stop Brexit.

No checks in the Irish Sea? Who are you kidding, Mr Johnson?

The Prime Minister has agreed that Northern Ireland will follow hundreds of EU rules to do with customs and so forth. As a result, there’ll be checks in the Irish Sea – in both directions, as a leaked Treasury analysis admits

UK companies and customers have paid 42% more in custom duties since Brexit - a record £2.2 billion in the first six months of the year. Meanwhile EU firms export into the UK without any checks and this will now be extended to 1st Jan 2022, despite pleas from the National Farmers’ Union and the Food and Drink Federation that such postponement would give European exporters a commercial advantage over British firms, the government decided that it had no choice.

If you read the ONS report behind the Wails propaganda you will see that yet again you have been taken for a fool.

He never reads links.......not even his own as is clear from his latest childish thread title of "haters".**

He even ignored the main header and went for one sub-header instead which suited his narrative, but by not reading his link he's shot himself in the foot again as usual.

The Office for National Statistics (ONS) revealed today that Britain's available vacancies have surpassed a million for the first time on record.

The food and accommodation sector saw the biggest jump in the number of vacancies available in August, increasing by 57,600.

However, experts have warned not to expect the 1.5 million Britons currently on furlough to fill the vacancies after the scheme ends on September 30.

They said skill shortages and geography would stop roles being filled - but also revealed that some workers would feel the jobs were 'not for them'.

Ali Capper, chair of British Apples and Pears, said today: 'In every society there are jobs working outside, washing linen and in care homes. There are jobs that fall at the bottom. They're not badly paid jobs but they are jobs that aren't for everyone.

'We advertised locally for 70 fruit pickers and we had 9 applications but on follow-up only one was available and she has since got a job. In terms of recruiting locally, we failed completely.

'We have recruited both directly and through a labour provider and we have a mix of Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian, Ukrainian, a real mix of lovely seasonal workers. Oh the irony!!! (lol)(lol).

'The sector at the moment is at crisis point, Fruit and vegetables are picked all throughout the year but our peak is through April to October and at the moment the whole industry is running between 10 and 35% short of labour.

'That means that fruit and veg are not being picked. There is food waste on our farms. And while we do have a seasonal workers pilot that is bringing 30,000 workers, it's just simply not enough.

'So, the sector really is in a very difficult place and then I go into the permanent roles in our sector and talking to businesses in the east yesterday, one just said to me it's a mess.

'He's having to change shift patterns, his own packhouse is 24% short and there is deep concern about the run-up to Christmas. It feels at the moment the government is just presiding over chaos in our sector.'

Daniel Browne, who owns Blossom and Browne Sycamore which has a royal warrant to provide laundry and dry cleaning to hotels in London, also said his firm was affected.

He explained: 'We service at roughly 60 hotels in London and we've got to the point where we have to provide the clients notice because we can't provide the service to them purely because of a lack of employees.

'We just can't get them. So it's heartbreaking. We were a very successful business pre-Covid, pre-Brexit and now without the staff we are unable to provide the services and it's just horrific.

'We put our rate of pay up but we are still not attracting employees - the workforce is diminished BECAUSE OF BREXIT. To give you an idea, a hotel housekeeper was historically £9 an hour. They are now offering that job at £15 an hour but we still can't find employees.

'Demand for programmers and software developers is now the third highest of all occupations in the UK behind only Nurses and HGV Drivers.

Vacancies in tech, which the ONS reported today have risen by over 200% in the last year, will therefore remain unchanged.'

'With Brexit and Covid driving a more deep-seated decline in labour supply, the end of furlough is unlikely to be a silver bullet to the ongoing shortages.

** Haters; This is a totally retarded expression......It sounds like something a little crybaby would say just because they can’t get their way. https://www.debate.org/opinions/is-haters-a-stupid-word

UK’s ‘better surveillance

Well it should be

England has a higher proportion of CCTV cameras per head of population than anywhere else in the world.

Because the Government is less concerned about our privacy

The Taliban will be using the ones they left in Afghanistan to hunt out those who supported us >:-)

Not surprised when you see how much it costs to move in to London

Migrants were invariably young and single living in shared accommodation

For anyone with a family its hopeless - rent, childcare etc

With constant Government intervention in the housing market to keep rents high for their rentier chums.

John, the hospitality industry has always been low paid hence the reason it's suffering after many of it's EU staff left, never to return and Britons don't want to do hard manual work. Though it's worth bearing in mind larger hotels often have staff accommodation as part of the package.

Somehow a fruit farm managed to get Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian, Russian and Ukrainian workers to pick their crop which the thread op will be very happy about. It's another example of employment Britons don't want to do because it's hard work.
