Bulletguy
This was the subject on last nights Panorama on BBC1. 700 PO staff, most sub-postmasters not only lost their jobs, some lost their homes and some went to prison. It drove many to suicide and sadly some succeeded. All down to 'bugs' in the accounting software used by postmasters which the PO knew about, but chose to blame the postmasters. It is simply mind boggling how such a massive miscarriage of justice could occur in this day and age and chillingly the PO actually went out of their way to cover up their dirty deeds (they spent £32 million attempting to defend their grubby activities). Even barristers representing the accused were shocked at what Panorama uncovered from investigative journalist Nick Wallis who never let go of it. Nobody has ever been held to account, including Paula Vennells, the CEO who walked off with £millions in her bank account. The 'smoking gun' came from an IT technician who had worked at Fujitsu at the time the software had been developed. https://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/m0016t20/panorama-the-post-office-scandal
Bulletguy
One of the sub-postmasters who was also a TU official visited Fujitsu to discuss the Horizon software programme, had the shock of his life when an IT technician showed him they had remote access to every PO counter so could alter the accounting figures. I found that absolutely staggering so can only imagine the shock of the sub-postmaster.
