It's because of PR UKIP got so many seats in the European Parliament ..........

Where as roughly the same number of voters in a UK general election didn't get a single seat ........

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_European_Parliament_election_in_the_United_Kingdom

PR is good news for Brexiteers ......

I'm guessing that you think the EU elections is straight PR vote? They're actually run under the D’Hondt system which heavily favours larger parties and thus works against groups that split their votes amongst several parties.....

I'm guessing you're hoping the turn out will be as low as it was in 2014 ........

Who knows? I'd like to think that the electorate will be more engaged, it certainly seems that way when canvassing around these parts - which WAS a strong leave area, but people now understand more of the complexities of the argument. That's why I'm even keener for that second vote we're moving too.

Either way the fact is that under the D'Hondt PR system that the EU elections will be held under a Kipper and Brexs**t party splits the vote which will lead to less seats.

You mean under that system where Labour and the Tories are dependent on their Lemmings? .....

"YouGov’s first voting intention poll of the campaign shows large swathes of Britons turning their backs on the main two parties and moving towards groups with harder Brexit positions."

Which considering Mayday May has yet to confirm we'll be having EU elections is surprising .........

I kinda get the feeling YOU Lemmings will be out numbered on the day ........

Perhaps you should start practicing this establishment phrase......."It's not as bad as we'd feared".......

Just sayin .........

I know maths (or the English language for that matter), isn't your strong point so I'll try to spell it out for you.

Two Brexit parties, or even three, on the ballot paper will split the leaver vote AND under the d'Hondt system of PR you'll get less MEP's than when the kippers were the only game in town.

http://www.europarl.europa.eu/unitedkingdom/en/your-meps/european_elections/the_voting_system.html

And under this system you can bin your polling data, hence why UKIPs last success was such a surprise, no polsters can accurately predict outcomes.

Best explain that to the Guardian then ........

https://www.theguardian.com/politics/2019/apr/09/labour-and-tories-reluctantly-prepare-for-european-elections

"And while Ukip and the Brexit party will essentially be competing for the same voters, the PR system means both could thrive. According to the poll, Farage’s organisation is on 10.3% support, with Ukip at 7.5%."

Unless your bible is talking sh*te .......

......and to be fair......it is according to Brexit Party & UKIP vote share......

Just sayin .......

Nope it was from the EU.

You do though seem a little fixated that I managed to access substantial EU funds for my projects whilst you were struggling to scrape a couple of grand together for a second hand dinghy. I hope that's not the green eyed monster?

Lets try a Diane Abbott Maths lesson .........

A country puts money into a empty pot...........27 other countries allow them to have some of the money back.......Who's money are they spending? ........

BTW I'm not the one who's still working full time at 55 ..........

PS the only reason whilst I'm still working is my wife is still getting treatment.

I suppose that someone who has led a risk free life will eventually purchase a motorhome and go off on big adventures ... to Europe.

Oh no, not a motorhome - not just any motorhome - but a Burstner Delphin Performance T821 - the motorhome for unbridled risk-takers! Hmmmm! Risk taking indeed!

Don't 'do' Europe Brian, don't 'do' longhaul Holidays nowadays either.

Bought the moho so we could take the dogs away with us.

But you knew that didn't you?

No, but how is that relevant to risk? I guess the dogs might crap on the carpet, but otherwise?

There are a few jobs which would be considered high risk and i once remember hearing French pro-rally driver Sebastien Loeb talking about 'risk'. It's impossible to disagree it's a highly dangerous job but he said only a fool takes risks.....i calculate any risks. Easy to see what he means too if you watch him drive as it's as though the car is being driven by an automaton.

We are back to the world of Donald Rumsfeld. "There are known knowns. There are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things that we now know we don't know. But there are also unknown unknowns. There are things we do not know we don't know." Everyone thought him an idiot for saying that. However, if one stops to think about it, he was absolutely right. Rumsfeld's problem was that there was a readily foreseeable unknown that remained unforeseen (so was an unknown unknown) until it was far too late to remedy - and that was that no-one had planned for the aftermath of the Iraq war.

Those who take risks do it for the thrill - in which case they tend to die young, for the prospect of gain - in which case they tend to plan their risk management strategy with care, or unwittingly, in which case they are either stupid or unlucky.

A half open door presents a risk. Some people seem endlessly to walk into half open doors, and endlessly blame the doors. Others understand the risk and either open the door fully, close it, or learn to look where they are going!

Beware the guy with a big bruise on his forehead and a resentment of doors! Those with no bruise have simply been looking where they were going, so have arrived unscathed and with no resentment of doors!

Clever Nigel promoting a couple of funny foreigner sounding (and looking) candidates to try and show how he isnt a racist one of which however has openly admitted how he has exploited Brexit for capital gain out of others losses and will continue to do so (Habib) the harder the Brexit the better for him. Interesting discussion between Bannon and Farage:

"Bannon: "If you're interested, what I'd like to do is set up something I'll fund it somehow..I think you'll be the perfect guy. We help knit together this POPULIST NATIONALIST MOVEMENT movement throughout the world. Guys in Egypt are coming to me, Modhi's guys in India, Duterte, Orban"

https://twitter.com/UnwinPaul/status/1117710908074151938

If you can't see the parallels, if you're not worried, if this doesn't deeply concern you, if you can't see the clones prosecuting this plan here in the UK, it's already too late for you......

Anyone who is in the pocket of a White Supremacist like Bannon is bad news for all of us. A vote for either UKIP or Farages new party in the EU elections is essentially supporting the likes of Bannon.

Farage reckons he has left UKIP to distance himself from their extremist racist leanings but its not got off to a good start. https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/brexit-party-leader-quits-after-antiislam-tweets-posted-from-her-account-a4097041.html?fbclid=IwAR01iaO6NWaixP1hng8yezu1JaPbg0zIWdTtko32f5xDke1pFP3oeDYWKJs

They just cant help themselves and we will get more of this before the elections so maybe we will find out how many racists voted for Brexit if they vote for two openly racist parties.

How Farage fawns over Bannon shows how much in over his head he is. Both are loathsome but imo Bannon is the more dangerous courting some extremely unsavoury company who make Mafia look positively appealing.

If you can't see the parallels, if you're not worried, if this doesn't deeply concern you, if you can't see the clones prosecuting this plan here in the UK, it's already too late for you......

How Farage fawns over Bannon shows how much in over his head he is. Both are loathsome but imo Bannon is the more dangerous courting some extremely unsavoury company who make Mafia look positively appealing.

Gandhi
Martin Luther King
Mandela

All challenged the rich and the powerful

All were traduced, smeared and undermined by the mainstream media

BUT when it was safe
When it could do no harm
Then, and only then, were they praised

It is how it always works......

“The media’s the most powerful entity on earth. They have the power to make the innocent guilty and to make the guilty innocent, and that’s power. Because they control the minds of the masses. The press is so powerful in its image-making role, it can make the criminal look like he’s a the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. This is the press, an irresponsible press. It will make the criminal look like he’s the victim and make the victim look like he’s the criminal. If you aren’t careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.”
