Jewish leaders in Pittsburgh have written an open letter to Trump who plans to visit Pittsburgh tomorrow, telling him, "You’re not welcome in Pittsburgh “ and to...

"Stay away until you fully denounce white nationalism and stop targeting minorities, immigrants, and refugees."

“For the past three years your words and your policies have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement.”

That CEO of Bend The Arc sounds like a nice lady ... Given her radical background its hardly surprising she's using the massacre to push her anti-Trump stance ... Nothing like jumping on death and slaughter to push your own agenda ... That petition just open to all Americans or just Pittsburgh Jews ??? ... If its open to everyone what 0.00 percentage of the population have signed ... Your a sad fella

That petition just open to all Americans or just Pittsburgh Jews ??? ...

Any US citizens as all it asks for is name, address and zip code. Pittsburgh city is relatively small with a pop. of just over 300,000 and US being what it is, states outside of PA will be getting on with their own business.

Over 70,000 signed to it now.

Yes i'm sad.....sad it's taken something like this to wake up decent sane thinking Americans to the divisive bigoted rhetoric Trump has been spouting off. And the first thing he does is take to Twitter and wail about "fake news" blaming him. Always plays the 'poor me' victim card.

Your other 'flame', Hopkins was reported for racial hate over a tweet she made blaming the chief rabbi of the synagogue for the attack. She's since deleted it with a grovelling attempt at excusing it as a 'misinterpretation'.

So your insinuating it's just Pittsburgh folk signing ...

No......first three words from post....read 'em......SLOWLY.

Any US citizens.

Read your own words "US being what it is , states outside PA will be getting on with their own business" ... SLOWLY now ... Your insinuating those from states other than Pittsburgh wont have any interest to vote or did you mean something else ??? ... Think before replying

That's correct, and they will. US is a big chunk of land mass with Pittsburgh being one small city in the state of PA so outside of that can be anything up to two or three thousand miles away, That's not "insinuating" anything, simply stating an obvious fact! Pedantry pick all you like but it won't alter geographical fact. *-)

And i've already made it crystal clear (twice now) any US citizen can sign.....why can you not see that from the link?

Dont think we need a geography lesson ... The Jewish group run by that radical lady are a nationwide concern ... The internet is global if you hadn't noticed ... Anyone from anywhere I presume could sign the petition ... The pitiful 70.000 who signed is an indication that most think like me that to politicise the killings is disgraceful ... You on the other hand obviously think like the 0.000??? % of folk whom have signed

You're denigrating and dismissing a very serious matter because you can't accept thousands of Pittsburgh citizens DO NOT want Trump there. He's not welcome until he cleans up his act, denounces white nationalism, stops targeting and endangering all minorities, ceases his assault on immigrants and refugees, and commits himself to compassionate, democratic policies that recognize the dignity of all of us.

They've made that absolutely crystal clear.

Your base ugliness is frankly disgusting and in keeping with the bigoted vile divisiveness Trump perpetuates and spews out.

Exactly what have I wrote to make you believe I need the geography lesson ??? Princess , so if any US citizen can sign how do you know how many if any Pittsburgh residents have and finally me pointing out that only 70.000 have signed out of a population of 325.000.000 isnt dismissing a "very serious matter" or any of your other usual childish insults which you always spew out when struggling ... Now if the American public agreed with your little Trump speech then a lot more than just 0.025% of the US population would have signed it wouldnt they ??? ... Stop politicising tragedies just like you did with Grenfell , its not big or clever and doesnt sit well with most folk

Tree of Life Synagogue Rabbi Jeffrey Myers " Its not a political issue in any way shape or form ... The President is always welcome , Im a citizen , he is my President . He is certainly welcome " Please show some respect now and shut up if you have any decency

...so if any US citizen can sign how do you know how many if any Pittsburgh residents have?

Pittsburgh BTA will know......from the zip codes. What matters more is the thousands of citizens who've signed to it. I would expect most would naturally be from Pittsburgh as that is where the atrocity was committed and has directly impacted that city, so it's totally irrelevant as to which state any signatories are from.

Meantime;

PITTSBURGH — A mourning family doesn’t want to meet him. Leaders of his own party declined to join him. The mayor has explicitly asked him not to come. Protesters have mobilized. And yet President Trump visited this grief-stricken city Tuesday, amid accusations that he and his administration continue to fuel the anti-Semitism that inspired Saturday’s massacre inside a synagogue.

Congressional leaders from both parties — Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.), Senate Minority Leader Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.) and House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D.-Calif.) — have all declined invitations to join Trump on his visit.

Trump offered to visit with the family of Daniel Stein, a 71-year-old who had just become a grandfather when he was gunned down at Tree of Life. Stein’s nephew, Stephen Halle, said the family declined in part because of the comments Trump made in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, when he suggested the synagogue should have had an armed guard.

“Everybody feels that they were inappropriate,” Halle said Tuesday. “He was blaming the community."

About an hour before Trump arrived in the area, more than 100 people had jammed onto a street corner in Squirrel Hill, the predominantly Jewish neighborhood where the synagogue is located and many victims lived. The number swelled as Trump’s visit neared, with some marching through the neighborhood streets and declaring themselves angry that he would come to their community.

"This didn't happen in a vacuum,"Ardon Shorr said. "There is a growing trend of white nationalism. And that has been enabled by Trump, who traffics in the kind of conspiracy theories that we know were foremost in the mind of the shooter last Saturday."

Shorr added about Trump’s visit. “He’s not tolerated here, and we didn’t consent to him coming.”

Kara Bernstein was on her way to protests in Squirrel Hill. Bernstein, who lives near Tree of Life and was at another house of worship during Saturday’s massacre, went with two friends in part to urge people to vote. Her second motivation, she emphasized, was speaking out against Trump.

“I personally hold Trump and his rhetoric accountable for the tragedy that occurred,” she said. She believes his visit is a “distraction from the grieving.”

Kathy Wolfe lives across the street from the Tree of Life Synagogue and is preparing a sign of protest in case the President or anyone from the White House shows up.

"Words have consequences that you can't preach hate and then be surprised when people — irrational people, take your hatred to heart and act on it," she told CNN.

"Your words — if you're the President of the United States, your words have consequences."

Your carrying on politicising the tragedy ...

You just can't accept people of Pittsburgh didn't want Trump there can you? He was asked to stay away and openly told him he's "not welcome", but ignored them...typical. So the only 'politicising' was done by that inconsiderate person whose shown nothing but contemptuous disrespect.

Not even Pittsburgh Republican senators wanted him there......that's how much hatred he's brought with his vile ugliness and divisive bigoted rhetoric. When senior politicians of your own party tell you "you're not welcome here...stay away", the message could not be more clear.

"For the past three years your words and your policies have emboldened a growing white nationalist movement. You yourself called the murderer evil, but yesterday’s violence is the direct culmination of your influence.

Yesterday’s massacre is not the first act of terror you incited against a minority group in our country."

Its strange that we have thousands and thousands of Muslims who've killed hundreds of thousands and it would seem rape in the name of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad but you suggest the slaughters have nothing to do with Islam ... Now we have a loop who's unfortunately killed some Jews and the attacker happens to support POTUS Trump and its all his fault ... Reverting to deflective untruthful rubbish and slinging out personal insults is always a sure sign of defeat, so in that i am well satisfied you've shown your true colours. Your ugliness is sickening in your sycophantic support of a bigoted racist whose divided communities with his hateful inflammatory rhetoric.

Rubbish. I pointed out your deflective untruthful nonsense and personal insults was the sign of defeat...and it certainly is. Also attempting to claim i'm "politicising" is utterly perverse when it's been plain for all to see, except you, the only "politicising" has been by that horrible person you fawn over and bow down to.

Go away and prostrate yourself to your cardboard idol. I'm not interested in any more of your right wing extremist bile. It's repulsive.

Your a hypocrite of the highest order and a disgrace for carrying on politicising the attack ... Hypocrite

Your now claiming some kind of victory over your politicising Jewish deaths ?

Wow ... Off he stormy's while shouting a load of insults as usual ... His horrendous political thread on the back of death and slaughter hopefully at an end after being shown the affection Pittsburgh has for POTUS Trump ... Enjoy my "defeat" as you put it and your victory Bullet ... Share the victory with your loved ones , they'll be so proud
