Would have paid the annual salary of 240 nurses, provided housing for the homeless or the depoosit for the keel plate for a new royal yacht - that the royals don't want. If we add up the cost of Tory vanity projects, £56 M for a garden bridge, £8M for a estuary airport, £500M for Nightingale hospitals for which there are no staff. When London mayor Johnson squandered a billion on such projects and since being in government even more has been wasted on painting planes and organising Brexit festivals, throughout this time they were planning to let children go hungry and cancel the small uplift in universal credit.
