I bet she is turning in her grave.

Dont think so ... You do know that speech was part about leaving the EU without breaking the treaty and we didn't some years later when leaving though folk like you would have us believe we did illegally somehow, you and those like you maybe would be a reason for Her Majesty to turn in her grave

Utter Bollox!! Maggie was pro Europe. It was part of her speech in 1975 where she campaigned to remain as members!

Full speech here. https://www.margaretthatcher.org/document/102675

She went on to be one of the chief orchestrators of The Single Market!

Maggie was a remainer!!!

Many people were so money obsessed they thought they could solve a problem just by increasing its funding.

And I think one of Maggies best comments was;

you don't cure a spoilt child by throwing money at them.

Maggie sowed the seeds of the housing crisis

but subsequent Governments have nurtured them

Now we have got BoJo even Maggie doesn't seem too bad :-S

Love or hate her she was respected across the globe and did some good work but also could be pretty ruthless. As you say though. Compare her to Johnson now. Jeesaz. What a laughing stock we are now to the rest of the world. Shameful.

It was. We have a deal. Johnsons oven ready deal remember? Yet it seems the Tories didnt know what they were voting for and now want to trash their own deal and break international law. You still think you will be laughing when the economy tanks as a result, there are food and medicine shortages, nobody wants to trade with us and everything goes up in price?

(Maggie) was respected across the globe

Yes by her close friend General Pinochet. She found it easier to deal with foreign dictators than British trade unions. But she was a hard worker with a grasp of detail - a research chemist who would have made a far better job of handling covid than BoJo.

She would have been on it.

She would not have disbanded our pandemic control department to focus on Brexit.
