Long time passing
Where have all the waiters gone, not so long ago
Where have all the waiters gone?
Back to the EU every one of them
Oh, when will they ever return?
Never, not to a country which made them unwelcome........and now the Daily Wail suddenly realises a sh1ttload of hospitality staff were from abroad and Brits won't work for low pay, the pubs open after lockdown, and now there's no-one to pull your great British pint.

| Since easing of lockdown my missus has eaten twice locally with no service issues ... Just had 5 days cycling on our government backed bikes around the lovely East Yorkshire coast, had 2 meals out with no service issues ... The Ship Inn had 5 staff waiting on folk and all of em spoke their mother tongue English perfectly ... Sometimes reality gets in the way of hatey scaremongering ... Be happy |

Trouble is if they voted for Brexit their mind-set will be that such work is below them because they feel they are a superior race born of the british empire so they'll just hang around home dragging their knuckles along the ground blaming the germans for starting the second world war and not being able to play football in 1966. |

We aren't talking of isolated cases here where the village tea shop had no applicants for a counter assistant or a town pub unable to get a bar worker. It's heads of the entire hospitality industry.
Jeremy King, the co-founder of the restaurant group Corbin & King, told i: “Nobody quite realised how many people we had from Europe.
“They were marooned here in the pandemic and were treated quite badly. We have a Home Secretary who shows no respect for the sector, our third largest employer.
“They headed home and some don’t want to come back, and who can blame them? Others who do can’t get back."

Hull voted to leave by 68%! Oh dear. Not only will those fishermen have to be waiters now they will no doubt be serving the fish they used to catch now landed by the Norwegians and sold to us tariff free!

Went out for a meal Saturday to Heckmondwike ... Had brunch Sunday morning in Ripponden at a lovely pub while out on our government e-bikes ... Had no issues with being served at all ... Thats quite a few times now since the lifting of restrictions I have had "no-one to pull your great British pint" ... We are back up again to the lakes in a couple of weeks so I will gladly update then ... Your one of those on here that warned us all that we would have medical and food shortages n'all aren't ya??? ... Chuckle |

| So who to believe? The directors of the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce and Cumbria Tourism, or Tweetiepie?
Well it looks like the survey carried out by the paper provides a accurate answer.
Our survey says:
223 vacancies across 75 establishments.
Average of three vacancies per establishment.
75% of establishments are hiring now.
71% of places hiring need front of house and 65% need chefs.
A quarter of places not hiring have just taken on new staff.
Most in need: 1: Derwenidioter Hotel, Portinscale (19); 2: North Lakes Hotel, Penrith (15): 3: Another Place, the Lake, Ullswater (12).

Lordy ... I point out numerous times I have had no issue with what the Hollywood OP claimed, "theres no one to pull your great British pint" and you go all tizzy ... I have had numerous pints and theres always been someone to pull it which totally goes against what the OP was boldly claiming ... As for Cumbria it has always had issues with hospitality employment, my daughter and SIL were both at university in Cumbria and never had any shortage of hospitality jobs while there ... The bloke is a despicable two faced hypocrite and wanted Brexit but now it's backfired on him he's changed his tune. I've no sympathy as he's brought it on himself. He could of course simply pay a better wage and offer decent working conditions so that he can attract UK nationals. After all, part of the reason people wanted Brexit in the first place because they claimed FOM apparently depressed wages.

LOL! Can you imagine his customers reaction (who all voted for Brexit) when they go for their warm piss beer breakfast and its doubled in price because Tims had to pay a decent wage to attract British workers?

Hes successful because he provides reasonable meals and drinks at reasonable prices which seems to irritate you ... You people
He's successful because he exploits his staff and suppliers. |
