....you as is standard for ya blame everything on Brexit

Brexit is a contributing factor, of that there is no doubt and the restaurateurs and industry CEO's have said so.

Any adult with an ounce of sense knew when you started this hate thread months ago that Brexit contributed to the hospitality staffing problems

Glad to see you accept that......pity you couldn't have agreed in the beginning and openly said so instead of desperately looking for a way to deflect from Brexit being a factor.

Quite the opposite if you look back princess ... Talking of desperately deflecting have you come up with an answer yet to whose serving all that lovely booze in our boozers and restaurants??? ... Is that the 8th time I have asked??? ... Chuckle ... Keep on bumping this thread back up to the top because if you dont I will xx

Hubby was out yesterday for meal and drinks ... I made her a few sandwiches and left them out with a glass of fizzy lemonade for when she got back as apparently theres no staff in our pubs and restaurants ... Turns out once again I needn't have worried as all the places they went had staff ... We are away to Cornwall for 5 or 6 days at the end of the week so any info on any places still open to eat and drink would be good

Mother in Law went out for Sunday lunch yesterday ... Given the info the OP had given us all I decided to make her an easy to eat without teeth banana sandwich as she was obviously going to go hungry with no staff serving food or drinks ... Turns out I needn't have bothered, a beautiful beef Sunday lunch she had ... I cant understand what went wrong

I dont think she did ... She must have dreamt it all ... As your organ Grindr says all the EU staff have gone, ALL of em and our Brit lot wont work for low pay so I cant see that there were any staff in the pub she went to, cant have been ... I have asked your close friend to explain just who's serving the food and drinks but hes gone all quiet other than trying to get Daniels attention as its all got too uncomfortable for him ... Maybe you can help

village tea shop had no applicants for a counter assistant or a town pub unable to get a bar worker.

You can usually see why when you compare housing costs
with the guaranteed wages on offer
and ask yourself how anyone could afford to move there to take that job.

Well the missus went out for another meal to a town centre restaurant with 6 buddies last night ... They ate and drank and got served by a waiter ... Anyway we will see if those Cornish types have managed to get any staff, given the OPs claim obviously not so I expect all the pubs and restaurants will be boarded up ... Chuckle

Update on the hospitality staff shortages ... In the many years I have been visiting Cornwall I havent ever seen it as busy, smashed out ... Given the OPs warning on staff shortages, well not staff shortages but basically no staff I expected to go very hungry and very thirsty, thankfully of course reality is totally different to the Hollywood guff ... Two pubs shut I must admit ... Both though on the boards outside said it was Covid related, maybe they were lying ... We have a wedding tomorrow, I do hope they've found some staff from somewhere to serve on ... Chuckle ... My full list of safe places to visit is available on request

But that was only at home .........

On the rare occaission we ate out she'd put them in her handbag ..........

Lordy ... Just to let folk know who may be concerned over the OPs wild, Hollywood claims ... We went to a beautiful wedding yesterday at a beautiful hotel with beautiful staff serving beautiful food and drinks ... No problems what so ever ... Im hoping to get a quick day in at Ullswater in the Lakes early next week before we head south down to Sussex to visit a good friend and then take a ferry to Euroworld ... Will update on the false, lying guff claims by the OP ... As ever all places visited are available by PM ... Merci

Nando's have announced they will have to temporarily close 50 outlets due to shortages, meanwhile their Irish branches(north and south) are unaffected, either CV-19 hasn't reached Ireland or could it be there is no problems with labour/supplies as the whole of Ireland is in effect still in the EU.

Apparently government have been warned that EU worker rules and logistics would continue to his the industry but they don't seem bothered.

“There are shortages fluctuating between 10% and 20% of staff, so we need some emergency changes to get workers overseas who can fill this gap.”

The restaurant chain said it had to close sites after it was impacted by staffing shortages at suppliers and reduced numbers of lorry drivers, which have also impacted supermarket shelves in recent weeks.

Regards your latter point, yes they will be ok as whilst some supermarkets on the mainland have experienced stock shortages, stock was getting to Ireland as normal.

Or it could be that there are just 10 Nando's in Ireland compared to 410 here ..........

"The company confirmed that its sites in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, which have a unique customs arrangement due to Brexit, had not been affected."

There are 12 in Ireland.....do your homework.

Well ... No issues at all with hospitality staff yesterday ... Couldn't believe it ... Im beginning to wonder if the OP hasn't made a liccle mistake with the Hollywood claim ... We are back to Ullswater tomorrow to test out a new paddle board so shall eat out later with an in-depth staff report to follow and then we have a few days in Sussex which I really am looking forward to before hopefully heading off to France where they apparently aren't suffering from hospitality worker shortages

That's the purpose of self-service.

Due to the ongoing shortages of staff in the hospitality industry many wedding venues have no choice.

Two more supply chain issues have become apparent in the last few weeks, flu jabs are being cancelled due to a shortage of drivers, and now farmers are struggling with storage as they can't get move on crops.
As we have probably the most serious crisis since WWII you would think the government might actually listen to those who know what the problems are instead of burying their heads in the sand, and maybe with these exceptional circumstances they might stay at there desks doing their jobs instead of swanning of on holiday.

I don't understand why a the shortage of HGV drivers should delay the distribution of Flu jabs.

I'm sure the boxes containing the jabs would fit into the back of a Transit van, or similar vehicle.

Anyone but Boris Johnson would know that.

Not only crops, farmers are now also facing seeing thousands of pigs culled due to a shortage of slaughterhouse and meat processing plant workers. At least 15% of staff were from EU countries and like the truck drivers, won't be coming back here.

Brexiters were warned but all we had from them was screeches of "Project Fear".

It's Project Reality.
