HI HAS ANYONE BEEN ON THE FERRY TO SPAIN WITH THEIR DOGS AS IT WILL BE THE FIRST TIME TAKING OUR THREE TINY YORKIES AND WE WERE A LITTLE WORRIED WHAT TO EXPECT THEY ALL HAVE THEIR PETS PASSPORTS IS THIS ALL THEY NEED FOR SPAIN AND I DID READ SOMEWHERE THAT ONLY 2 PETS WERE ALLOWED IS THIS PER PERSON? THE FERRY COMPANY HAS NOT SAID ANYTHING WHEN WE BOOKED 3 DOGS FOR THE CROSSING WOULD IT BE BETTER TO SEDATE THEM? IF ANYONE OUT THERE HAS DONE THE JOURNEY AND COULD OFFER ANY ADVICE WOULD BE VERY GRATEFUL THANKS SOOOOOOO MUCH. :-D

Hi Fraggles

I would suggest you contact the ferry company regarding the accomodation for your dogs. We have used this crossing a couple of times- not with dogs, and found that you cannot access the car deck during the crossing and must hire a cabin. So unless you can take the dogs into the accomodation, you will have to leave them for 24 hours in the motorhome.

Now it may well be that there are kennels for animals, I dont know, but I would definitely be contacting the ferry company if it were me.

Good Luck

Vixter

thanks for your replies we know that there are kennels on board thats why we are taking the dogs on this crossing we were hoping that someone might have been already with their dog to let us know how they found it we know that the pets passport has now replaced the export health certificate we were hoping that someone out there could let us know if they encountered any problems we could avoid etc., thanks soooooooo much for taking the time to reply :-D

Hi Tania

I have regulary taken my dog abroad with no problems, just follow procedures ie vet for return into Uk. I would not have conteplated this crossing with the dog as The last time I did the crossing it was very rough.

I have taken him on the North sea ferry Hull to Zebrugge and was advised by one of the staff to keep the dog in the motorhome rather than the kennel. I did have access to the car deck during the voyage but escorted by security
