Atwoki
We have two electric bikes and want to charge the batteries with a solar panel when not driving or on a hook up. Has anyone got any experience of doing this? We are assuming summer in southern Europe and a 100w panel. Thanks
lennyhb
We have 2 e-bikes with Bosch 400 watt batteries, I use a 1000 watt pure sine wave inverter. I have 2 x 95 A/H AGM batteries and 2 x 100 watt solar panels. Only recently got the bikes & just fitted the inverter, last week used first time to charge the batteries from 80% discharged, charged fine in about 2 hours, that was Monday evening last week in France. Despite good sunshine for next few days leisure batteries never got above 75% charged by the time we were heading home on Thursday. so looks like I need to fit another solar panel or charge the e-bikes when less than 50% discharged so it doesn't cain the leisure batteries so much that way I can get them fully charged before topping up the bike batteries. Will use same amount of power overall but will ensure I have a good reserve of power in the leisure batteries.
