I find I cannot reach the handbrake very easily and my husband has a problem as when the wippers are going he looks over the top. barrie w Posted August 29, 2006 Share Posted August 29, 2006 not so much the seat but have you seen the hand brake lever extensions advertised in the mag,a good idea but what a price.i'm sure someone could come up with a diy item much cheaper.it's on my agenda when i get round to it. try using the next size up wiper blade on the drivers side,works for me.only an inch difference but useful. Just 4 set screws and 4 nuts and bolts usually and the whole lot can be removed whereupon the seat simply refastens to the runners with the afore mentioned set screws. You could even experiment with removing the seat height mechanism assembly well or instead of as - from memory the last time I did it several years ago - that assembly too just unbolts, although there might be an issue with the seat belt mounting on some which could render it impractical or unsafe. Wend Posted April 7, 2007 Share Posted April 7, 2007 This is an ongoing saga with lowprofile and coachbuilt MHs, as the manufacturers will not pay any attention to the driving position being too high and I think dangerous because your vision is impaired. When will buyers insist on the adjustment on seats or they walk away - vote with your feet. We insisted that our pasenger seat be adjustable like the drivers but if they were to swivel they would both be too high. After all they are only cabs from commercial vehicles with an alko chassis welded on which is invariably lower than the floor of the cab. We could do with an Ofstead to monitor these vans. They are too high ! feet don't touch the floor and not comfortable for driving long distances. Can anyone suggest a supplier of reduced hight seat base/boxs ?
