Footwell rust. Sevel vans

If your van is a few yrs old take off the plastic covers and you will probably find some rust starting there. I did and it's because the holes for the screws are slots to aid alignment, but each time you get in and out wih wet shoes the water goes down these holes to the footwell. Clean the rust off and re-paint, put covers back on and seal screw holes with black sealant. Job done.

Hi Frank,

If you look under the wheel arch you will see two of the plastic clips poking through that hold the screws, also give then a coating of underseal because they get all the spray from the wheels.

I also have just finished taking of the the plastic wheel arches attached to bumber and inner wing. some of the clip mounting holes had rust round them, and the tie rod for bumper in front of the plastic arch was corroding badly.
