TerryH
Hi I'm thinking of hiring a motorhome when I visit Australia in June/July this year. I'm going to the east coast with Brisbane as the entry and exit point. Are there any pitfalls I should be aware of? Any comments, suggestions would be welcome. I've found a number of siste on the web that I can hire through. Thanks for your help. Terry
colin
It's been 18years since we last hired in Oz so no good me giving recomendations, but be aware if you intend leaving sealed (tarmac) roads check your hire company allows this for the type of vehicle you intend hiring. Clive
We went February 2007. Fantastic super etc. Had we hired the same motorhome directly from the outlet we could have saved many hundreds of pounds compared with what we paid here in the UK. Have a look at http://www.aqwc55.dsl.pipex.com/Nature%20notes%20Australia.htm
TerryH
Thanks for the info. I've found some local hire sites and the costs look favourable. Let's hope the pound doesn't get any worse. The photos are great Regards Terry
Caroline
We also went many years (25) ago, had a fantastic time, the sights even then were far better than ours. We hired the van when we got there, without a problem just do your home work on rental places before you go.
Wingpete
Currently driving around WA, in a car though. Many 'vans on road, from firms such as Maui, Britz plus others. Some are only hightops,Maui seems to have Eurostyled ones. Parking places in abundance. Some free ones off highways, but many ban overnighting. Check as you go. Make sure you get aircon. It is essential or sleep impossible.
