Pipe Insulation/Alde Heating/Awning Crank

Soon after buying our Bailey M/H equipped with the Alde heating system it occurred to me that some of the boiler's output is lost through the metal lengths of tubing to be found in voids and cupboards. Also this waste heat is not desirable where tinned or dried food is stored.

So it was not a complicated task at all to insulate these lengths with standard 22mm domestic pipe insulation. The system output seems improved now as well as the warm up period.

Another use for this product is to put a small piece at the end of the awning winding crank to stop it banging on the side of the van when not in use if you don't want to stow it. In this case 15mm is better,

possibly tightened with a small length of insulating tape.

Apologies if these tips have already featured on the forum.
