Archiesgrandad Posted August 6, 2015 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Hi, I am looking to replace the normal RHD headlights on our Pilote Galaxy 25 built on a 1997 Peugeot Boxer chassis, with LHD headlights so that I can re-register the vehicle in France. The van is an A class with a glassfibre front, and to my untrained eye it looks to have the standard Peugeot headlights installed, and whilst I haven't removed them yet to look at the back of them, nor can I even see the backs, I note that they have "CARELLI" on the front. I realise that the chassis could be earlier than 1997, but that is when it was registered, and I also realise that many of you would have disposed of this van in the UK, and replaced it with a left hooker over here, but it has only done 42,000 miles, is in great condition, and has an internal layout that suits us perfectly. In addition, I really couldn't care less which side the steering wheel is on, but I actually prefer driving a righthand drive vehicle, even on the continent Does anyone know where I might purchase suitable replacements UK or elsewhere, without breaking the bank.? Randonneur Posted August 6, 2015 Share Posted August 6, 2015 Hi, we have a pair of LHD headlights from when we re-registered our Pilote in UK but unfortunately they are for a 2007 Renault Master so I don't think they are the same. We got ours UK ones online from a place in Bury, Lancashire called Wing Mirror Man, 0161 763 0808 or 0843 208 0008 they should be able to help or put you onto the right people. Derek Uzzell Posted August 7, 2015 Share Posted August 7, 2015 AGD I believe your Pilote’s headlamps will be marked “Carello” (not “Carelli”) and I’m pretty sure you are right in thinking that they will be the same lights as fitted as original equipment to early 2nd-generation Citroen Jumpers/Fiat Ducatos/Peugeot Boxers. (see photos on this Wikipedia link) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fiat_Ducato LHD lights are currently being offered on UK e-bay by a French vendor based in Martigues near Marseilles. http://tinyurl.com/ngfrepp (The link carries e-maiil addresses at the foot of the webpage if you wanted to contact the vendor directly.) And this French e-bay shop seems to have them http://www.mister-auto.com/phare-avant/fiat-ducato-autobus-autocar-230-2-5-d-combinato-84ch_v3781_g259.html As a helluva lot of 2nd-generation Boxers/Ducatos/Jumpers will have been sold in France over the years, if there’s a vehicle breaker near to you (and there are plenty of breakers’ yards in France!) they may well have a cheap pair of 2ndhand lights in stock or could get them for you. Does your Galaxy have a dashboard headlamp beam-adjustment control? If it has, you may want to check whether or not this would have any impact on the headlamp needed.
