When connecting up i followed youtube instructions and added battery wires to controller first before solar panel ... I am now wanting to add a cig lighter socket for phone charging via wires direct to battery , Will i need to undo the whole system wires again to do this or can i just unhook the clip fit tops and add the new wires in ? Charles Posted June 1, 2019 Share Posted June 1, 2019 If you have to disconnect the wires from solar controller to battery in order to connect the socket, then yes you should really disconnect the solar panel first. You could fit a maxi blade fuse in one of the wires between solar panel and solar controller for future isolation use.
