Adria 500 Twin owners?

Hi. Are there any other Adria 500 Twin owners out there?

We know they were only made for a few years but we have never seen another on our travels.

Would love to share ideas about how you use your van, storage ideas etc...

Welcome to the Out&AboutLive forums, Bev.

The Adria Twin 500S was a clever design (some good photos in this advert)

https://www.somersetmotorhomecentre.co.uk/showroom/van-conversion/adria-twin-500-s/

that was first marketed in 2015 and (I think) was only produced for three years.

The 500S will be rare and, although there will certainly be O&AL forum members who own, or have owned, other Adria Twin models, I’m doubtful that anyone here will have hands-on experience of the 500S - so don’t be too disapplointed if a specific reply is not forthcoming.

Given how compact the 500S is, it would be interesting to learn how long you’ve owned yours, how you use it and what you do about its relatively limited storage.

Hi. Not sure if you are a member of the Adria Owners Club.

If not, you can join via our website http://www.clubadria.co.uk/index.php it's only £15 per year. Great value.

Membership also gives you access to our dedicated Facebook site where you can contact other 500 twin owners.

Looking forward to seeing you.

Thanks Derek.

We had an Autosleepers Duetto prior to the Adria 500 and though the new van is 40 cms shorter, we find the storage, much much better. Lots of nooks and crannies built in. We have freed up the underfloor table space though by storing a freestanding table between the fridge and the rear dooors. This has freed up a lot of space.

Kitchen worktop space is better than many much bigger vans. Took a while to get used to no oven though.

We don't use the shower- but we only used the Duetto one once!

Would be nice to be able to run the fridge on gas though......

We've also brightened up the grey interior with some homemade red seat covers and red and white spotty 'curtains' on net curtain wire which cover the two side shelves/ cubbies and the overcab storage...where we keep our feather duvets etc. Red accessories ( tea towels, cushions etc have really brightened it up too.)

We've removed the clumsy bathroom folding door and replaced it with a grey shower curtain which we find much more practical.

Have added a number of net curtain wires in the bathroom area for damp towels, washing etc and these dry really well.

We use space behind offside rear seat to store a plastic box containing clothes. We keep nearside behind rear seat area free- a tray fits there really well to place stuff when cooking.

We only carry one gas bottle which has freed area to store walking boots and an easily removed shelf stores boxes for veg and fruit. These keep very cool as the gas cupboard has mesh open to the outside.

The underfloor heating is wonderful!

Overall, we had many concerns and worries when we bought the van, but we have worked hard to make it work for us and now we love it!

Bev

It sounds like you’ve made excellent use of the available space,

In our last two motorhomes we’ve used a ‘pouch’ arrangement (a bit like the thing in the attached image below) made of calico and screwed to an inner side-wall of the wardrobe. This holds a set of melamine crockery, takes up little space and is easy to get at.

I’ve also glued sturdy plastic ‘cup hooks’ all around our Rapido’s toilet/shower-room near to the ceiling and my wife has sewn loops on to the corners of all our towels. The towels can then hang across the toilet/shower-room to dry (We don’t normally use campsite showers) but are easily moved out of the way when the toilet is to be used. The Rapido came with a pull-out clothes-line in the toilet/shower-room, but the loops method is more convenient.

Plenty of on-line storage ideas, but many won’t be practicable for smaller motorhomes
