Derek Uzzell Posted September 24, 2021 Share Posted September 24, 2021 This link MAY help https://batteryglobe.com/how-long-can-a-car-battery-sit-unused/ Some types of 12V battery will have a longer shelf life than others, but if you buy a popular 'ordinary’ battery from a specialised battery retailer that has a high turnover, it should be anticipated that there won’t be an ultra-long period between when the battery was manufactured and when you bought it. I’d be happy with a period of 6 months. (Identifying a battery’s date of manufacture may prove tricky, as there’s no ‘date code’ standardisation.)
