HarveyHeaven
we have a 2011 Adria/Fiat Ducato. The fan has suddenly started to act up. Sometimes it will only run on the highest setting number 4. On 1,2, and 3 nothing but it always works on 4. It then suddenly starts working on all settings again, then stops....this has now continued for the last 3 times we have been out. The Air con is fine whilst the fan is running. Maybe a loose connection?
Deneb
Sounds like an overheating or faulty resistor pack or connector block. The connector block is on the fan box above the passenger footwell behind the left hand glove box. The resistor pack is attached to it and can be accessed by removing the connector block from the motor housing.
Alanb
This could well be a problem with the fan resistor pack connector, At full fan speed this pack is bypassed. The followinhg are copied from current threads on the Fiat forum. "To remove the resistor pack, undo the screw at one end of the connector block, squeeze the tabs and slide the block away from the end with the screw. It should then just pull out. It's apparently fairly common for the connectors in the block to corrode or burn out." "On early x250's fiat and a couple of citroen relays I used, common also was the plug that connects to the resistor pack, bad connection usually the earth, can heat up & open up terminals giving bad connection, it can then start to burn out Check plug by removing and looking at the terminals, Pop plug back on and check, Sometimes just unplug and plug back on works" Alan
