Bogfoldcruiser
Good morning my fellow MoHo people . Our Autowatch alarm has the fault code with the LED flashing twice that according to the blurb is the Reed Switches , as these were fitted in 2014 I thought replace the batteries but they are soldered in , so I replaced the switches with the newer style that batteries can be replaced , my problem is now when I try to reset the system using the ignition key as per instructions asking for the 5 digit code it won't reset . Any ideas ,the Vehicle does lock etc so the system is partially working . Eddie
Derek Uzzell
It sounds like the ‘newer style’ switches (I’m guessing that these are the ‘wirelesss’ switches shown here) http://www.basesystems.com/vehicle-electronics/autowatch-659000-compact-wireless-reed-door-switch-sensor-for-alarm/ are not fully compatible with your 6-years-old Autowatch alarm system - though that assumes that the fault that caused you to replace the original switches ACTUALLY related to those switches. Presumably you’ve tried contacting Autowatch UK for advice? https://www.autowatch.co.uk/
Bogfoldcruiser
Derek these are identical to the old ones and compatible except that the batteries are replaceable . There is as you know a sequence with the ignition key etc to reprogram they new reed switches to the alarm and there lies the problem , I hope . Derek Uzzell
I've no knowledge of Autowatch alarm systems, but if you've followed the switch reprogramming instructions and that procedure has not been successful, Autowatch UK seems the logical contact for help. Bogfoldcruiser
That will be my next move Derek , it should be a simple job *-)
747
There should be Garages or Auto Centres that install or repair Autowatch alarm systems. I found one close to me when I had a problem reprogramming a new fob (not an Autowatch system). In my case the firm reprogrammed the fob for me but refused to do any other work on the system. They said mine must have been installed by the supplying Motorhome Dealer and they had made a complete hash of the installation. :-(
