MaryE
Hello folks. Just joined here and just bought our first M/home which is a Compas Avantgarde 140 2006 model and don't now how to pull in the wing mirrors. Can anyone help ? Also does anyone know what kind of entry step would works well with this model as our wee dog has a few issues and the first step is too narrow and he can't do it, I find it too narrow also. Thanks in advance. M
Derek Uzzell
2006 was when Peugeot radically revised the Boxer model, Photo 1 below shows the earlier Avantgarde 140 model and Photo 2 shows its mirror. Photo 3 shows the later Avantgarde 140 model and Photo 4 shows its mirror. I haven’t got easy access to Peugeot owner handbooks appropriate for 2006 Boxers, but exactly the same mirrors were fitted to ‘early’ and ‘later’ 2006 Fiat Ducatos and the Ducato handbooks say that folding in the exterior mirrors just involves pulling the mirror backwards towards the cab-door window in the usual way - that’s certainly the case with my ‘later’ Ducato. I’ve no hands-on experience of the earlier mirrors, but if your motorhome’s mirrors haven’t been folded for a while you may have to give them a firm tug to get them moving. Be careful - if they won’t move, don’t force them... I assume you are looking for a portable step, rather than altering whatever type of fixed step your motorhome has. There are lots of ‘caravan’ steps marketed, so you should be able to find one that suits your needs (examples here) https://tinyurl.com/y7m2etuj This recent forum discussion may also help https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Three-tread-steps/50504/#M582505
RTL452
Just wanted to add what a brilliant reply that was Derek. I was going to add some info regarding the later model door mirrors but I think you covered it all.
