Tar-Ten
Hi everyone.. Bit of an unusual one this.. Ive done the google search but can't find info needed so hope you guys can help.. It was a bit of a downer returning to MH to find awning roof material had been what looks like razor bladed 70% away across about 5" from leading edge... It doesn't look like it can be repaired but not an expert... Can you get the material replaced or is it a new awning complete... Thanks :-(
BruceM
Sorry to hear about that. Which make and model of awning do you have?
Derek Uzzell
Nick I believe your motorhome is a 2000 Hobby 600SE. Are you sure that the awning material was deliberately damaged, as - given the vehicle’s age and assuming that the awning was fitted not long after the motorhome was first sold - it might be expected that the awning’s fabric won’t be in tip-top condition in 2020. There are specialists in awning repairs (example here) http://www.radisol.co.uk/caravan-awning-repairs-bristol/ but whether that link will be any use to you may well depend on where you live. bobalobs
It is not clear but I think you have a rolloutawning. If I am right then you have the same problem we had a few years ago when up at Silverstone and after a squall the awning ripped across about a foot from the front edge. The awning is an Omnistor now Thule but I am sure Fiamma are the same. No chance of repair but the material can be replaced at equivalent to nearly half the price of a new awning! We did it through Rose Awnings at Bournemouth but other firms exist. After 35 of Campervanning to loose an awning is one too many!!
