Batteries charging speed

Ideally the charger will have a temperature sensor to a) adjust charging rate/voltage to the battery temperature and b) adjust the same if itself is overheating.

Also, lead batteries typically have a temperature coefficient of around -16mV/°C (12V battery) so the hotter it gets, the lower the voltage and vice versa. So around freezing, the charging voltage should be about 0,3V higher.

Whether that will have any effect on charging time... I don't really know. It's hard to compare outside the lab. However, charger overheating will definitely extend the time it takes.
