aandncaravan
There is a fully fledged camp site at Bryn Pydew above Penrhyn Bay/Llandudno Junction with breath taking views of the Sea for little more than the cost of the above mentioned stopover. The Bryn Pydew site is slightly safer than an Industrial Estate next to a Railway Station which is probably in the highest crime rate in the area around here? Not saying anything wrong with the Collinge Antiques site, just that for a couple of pounds more you get twice as much. The Bryn Pydew site, isn't luxurious (does have shower) but is out in the Countryside, Sea views and run by a lovely couple, David and Karen. See : http://www.tanybrynfarm.com/contact.php Their website documents quite a few local attractions from Seals on the Beach, an 'All Weather Ski Slope' to the oldest Bronze Ages mines in the UK. Sorry I have been away 'Off Air' for a while, but back out of Hospital yesterday. Cancer Tumour now removed and the entire procedure appears to have been fully successful. Thank you so much to everyone who sent one of the lovely emails with 'fast recovery' style wishes.
rebbyvid
Is there a bus stop close by to visit Conway and Llandudno ?
aandncaravan
Conwy Motorhomes used to offer free Motorhome stopovers on part of the industrial estate where they are based, but they have now taken over a new plot, about 3 miles away, close to the Car Park of Deganwy Railway Station, LL31 9EJ. Deganwy is a very pleasant town just outside Llandudno and the Stopover is pretty much just across the estuary from Conwy Marina with views of Conwy Castle and the town to your left. If you stop there go onto the Station Platform then up the steps of the platform crossover bridge, for a great view across the estuary. Good rail and bus access. Their new Stopover is a nice 'site' in a lovely location. Access is via the Deganwy Station Car park road. It has 5 Motorhome parking bays separated by raised Flower beds/tubs, but I don't know any other details, contact Conwy Motorhomes direct on 01492 583 913. I am guessing this may be the site that rebbyvid was referring to in the original post, but it is about 3 miles away from the Collinge Antiques location. aandncaravan
Update to the above I have been told it is £7.50 a night if booked in advance via the phone number above. No facilities. Not free but it is a nice safe spot with good transport links and a Cafe just across the road. The Castle View in Deganwy is quite a pleasant pub. You can walk into Conwy town from the stopover, a lovely walk mostly along the estuary footpath, about 20 minutes leisurely walk. Go to the far end of the Railway Station, turn down behind the Signal Box at the pontoon/slipway end of the Railway Station and you will find the footpath. Try the Liverpool Arms, right on Conwy Quay, have a drink outside looking over the harbour and look back across the estuary towards your Motorhome in Deganwy!! A big Tesco with the lowest cost fuel in the area is about a mile away, back towards the A55.
