My daughter's problem again! 2.4l 5 cylinder VW engine in 1995 Autosleeper Trident. Combined low coolant level/ coolant temperature light starts flashing after various periods of driving from cold. Sometimes light does not flash until approximately 8 miles have been driven. The coolant reservoir (which contains the level indicator) was changed for a new unit as was the coolant temperature sensor in the engine block with no success. There is no loss of coolant and the coolant temperature gauge does not indicate overheating. The cooling system retains pressure when cold. There is no evidence of water in the oil when checking the dipstick. I have tried, unsuccessfully, the VW forum but I know from past experience that we have some very experienced owners in the MM forum. I am beginning to think that it is possibly some obscure electrical problem but maybe someone out there has experienced a similar problem. Any suggestions would be welcome.
