Guest Alf W Posted October 24, 2005 Share Posted October 24, 2005 In the current issue of MMM, in the article on tyres, there is a picture and caption of a Bosch Cordless Air Pump. Anyone got good or bad experiences of these ? I have one of those pumps that plugs into the "cigar" socket. It is supposed to be suitable for "commercials" but really doesn't have the power to deal with the kind of pressures we use on Motorhomes. What do others do ? Garage forecourts ? Guest David Powell Posted October 24, 2005 Share Posted October 24, 2005 Yes if you go along with Brians idea and punture proof your tyres either by "Tyresafe" or "Protex" I believe "Protex" is the best, but it is dearer at £20 per tyre at the shows. If it did the job as intended I would have gone straight out and bought one. I contacted Bosch to see if we could review one for Caravan Motorhome & Camping Mart, only to find that they have been discontinued - a decision that I find utterly astonishing. Which is why I had mine done (by Ultraseal at a show - they have various US approvals for their product that the competition seem to lack). The stuff did not do the job so I went to tyre people for advice. It seems is now illegal to repare punctures in tyres that have been treated. I had to buy a new tyre.
