Ducato Upper Front Grill. 2013/14.

Hi, Decided to remove the above to see if I could fit some sort of metal mesh behind it to protect the radiators but it appears to go behind the mudguards. If anyone has done this, do the mudguards need removing to remove the grill.

Thanks.

But why? There must be thousands of Ducatos on the road all over Europe with no additional mesh protection for the rads. Have you become aware of numerous reports of radiators damaged by flying debris?

I ask, because interposing mesh seems to me inevitably to restrict airflow over the rads at speed (and the mesh may also collect insects, further restricting airflow). I understand your logic, but just wonder if you might eliminate what I think is a low risk, only to substitute an overheating risk.

Ebay adverts for the upper front grille section of Ducato X250s suggest that the unit should come out without needing to remove the wings or headlamps.

Protective stainless-steel ‘meshes’ are marketed that can be fitted externally, either as a complete set
