Guest Manxmaid
We are travelling to France in our coachbuilt in June. Would prefer to use Portmouth/Caen but fare is expensive, now considering Norfolkline to Dunkirk. Does anyone know of safe overnight parking, aire or similar, near the port? Poole to Cherbourg would be ok, but havent got a price for the crossing yet, any observations on this route and parking near the port/ Thanks in advance for your help. Guest Brian
Drive off the Ferry & follow the lorries into the large parking area. All the drivers use it before setting off in the morning. This advice was taken from a forum on another web site. It seems that other motorhomers have used this parking area without any problems. Will be using it myself when I cross over to Dunkirk in August
Guest Ray
We nearly always use the Poole Cherbourg route. There is plenty of overnight parking at Cherbourg. Exit the terminal drive around the island as though entering again for departure and there is a huge free parking area with toilets etc. useful for overnight before the return trip Ray g0kyk@yahoo.com
Guest Dianne
Hiya, we did the Norfolk line in the Easter hols. We headed for the A26(lille) and there is a service station about 25mins drive away. It was fine for us. We wanted to get a start to our holiday but it was late. The service station is not very big but you can get what you need. Hope you enjoy. Oh yes and as i said in an earlier posting we were very pleased with Norfolk line. Good price and good service. Hope you enjoy. Dianne
