As far as I know wild camping in Croatia is illegal. In Slovenia it is illegal to wild camp in the Triglav National Park and seems frowned on in the rest of the country. There are several "aires" in Slovenia and cheap overnight parking dotted around the country. The Campercontact App is a good resource..

I have no info for the Czech Republic or Poland where in the past we used camping sites all the time.

Have a great trip!

In Croatia many of the wooded areas still have live mines in the ground as a hang over from the last major skirmish. We were warned by locals not to venture off the road into the forest. My experience in Croatia is that most folk are very welcoming to tourists so best to stay in a caravan park keep, your legs and take advantage of the hospitality. cheers,

In Austria at the moment, on our way to Slovenia and Croatia. If you haven’t already got it, get the CamperContact app. It has places to stop that aren’t camp sites. Can recommend Pri Jujuri if you like mountains, very rustic and the owner is a real character and a good cook. Ljubljana is well worth a visit, there is a Motorhome stopover at a P&R, a bit noisy but very convenient for visiting the city, all facilities too. Lake Bled is lovely and there is an ACSI site there. In Croatia, the Plitvika Lakes are good as are the Istrian and Adriatic coasts. Both are beautiful countries with very friendly people and English is widely spoken.

If you're stopping in Ljubljana you have several better options than the P+R next to the railroad & motorway you mention.

As most have mentioned wild camping is illegal in those countries but i'll give you a tip regards Poland where i've toured many years now. If on one of the motorway rest stops, police will not move you on. Also i've lost count of the number of Restaurants i've enjoyed a brilliant evening meal at, then asked the owner if i can overnight outside in my van. Never once been refused but make sure you ask first and above all, spend some money with them. In Poland the food is great, welcoming hospitality and it's not expensive at all....neither are campsites (expect to pay around £8 a night with ehu).

Don't be afraid if the Restaurant looks 'a bit posh' because as a Brit you will automatically assume the meals must be expensive. Yes you will get quality food.....but you won't get ripped off. You are in Poland.....not UK.
