rooster63
Booked my high top long wheel base pvc in for an MOT at my local Halfords Autocentre as they were only charging £35 for a Class 4. As I was in the area a couple of days before the test I popped in to check they could accommodate the height as have had experience of garages turning me away for servicing as they don't have the height clearance. was reassured, no problem. Took the van into today, 5 mins later had a phone call apologising that they couldn't MOT the van as their ramp wasn't long enough!! Never thought to check that, so moral is if you are booking an MOT, check!!!
colin
My favoured garage for MOTing cars can't take the van because it's too wide to fit lift.
paulmold
The garage I've used for 20 years for Mots can't take the 6m van as the slide jacks don't go to the ends of the ramp and can't lift the van so now have to go elsewhere. Only found out during the test.
niktam
Four things:- Clearance above the MH when raised. length of the ramp Clearance between the uprights. The last one I got caught out on was as there was a car on the other ramp in the garage with no gearbox they couldn't get enough clearance to get the MH in as they needed the other ramp flat on the floor with no car on it. Can be a problem
