Harwich parking

I stayed in a Morisons car park that is next to the port a couple of years ago. Got there about 9.00pm, parked up and went to bed. Store opens about 7.00am I think, so I went in to buy some bits for breakfast and lunch to take with me so I did not feel too guilty.

I think the Port will let you stay overnight at the Port, but have never done so.

As far as I can make out there’s nothing on the current Stenaline website about motorhomes/caravans being allowed to overnight in the pre-embarkation lanes.

https://www.stenaline.co.uk/routes/harwich-hook-of-holland/Port-Info

but it’s mentioned on this 2014 video-clip

and in this 2017 MHFun posting

Security procedures at UK ferry-ports are unpredictable nowadays and, although it’s quite likely that Stenalines will still allow motorhomes/caravans to overnight-park in the pre-embarkation lanes prior to an early-morning crossinfg, you’d be wise to check with the company if that’s official policy..

GOOGLE mapping of the area near the ferry-port shows several potential overnighting opportunities exploiting ‘commercial’ car-parks (eg. the Morrisons car-park nelwd used).

As John from Norfolk covers there is no problem parking at the ferry terminal - stay over at the left hand rear of the assembly area, we have done this a number of times overnight and prior to the early morning ferry.
