DonnaD
Hi everyone, My name's Donna. I'm in my 30s and live in Tyne and Wear. Hubby and I have been considering getting a motorhome for a while, and I would like to take my C1 licence so that my motorhome options are greater. Has anyone took theirs? I was wondering whether you HAVE to take part 2 of the HGV theory (the case studies) if you're only gonna drive up to 7.5t ?? And if you do, what does it entail??? Thanks in advance Donna
bounty hunter
Donna, long time since I sat my HGV test so don't really know about now. However if you read this info from a training organisation there is no mention of a part 2. In fact if you are confident and a capable driver you may need only one day. Good luck john https://www.puredriving.co.uk/2019/01/how-to-get-your-c1-license/
Derek Uzzell
The C1 course referred to on the above link is ‘training only’. A more comprehensive/realistic complete package is advertised here https://www.benshawtraining.co.uk/product/lgv-c1-course/ For people who want to keep the cost down and are prepared to manage some of the procedural elements themselves, this May 2018 MHFun forum thread may be helpful https://www.motorhomefun.co.uk/forum/threads/obtaining-c1-licence-for-3500kg-mam.176158/
747
Speak to the experts would be the best idea. Try these (just off the Felling Bypass). https://wamitab.org.uk/centre/tyne-wear-lgv-driver-training-centre-2/ Just next door to them is Hoddys Recovery. They do all my Motorhome servicing, MOT and repairs.
