Guest Derek Uzzell Posted August 12, 2005 Share Posted August 12, 2005 If it's available, the simplest thing would be to use the genuine Hymer article as the rack/ladder will need to pick up strong-points on the roof/bodywork. I suggest you contact Hambilton Engineering about this (Tel: 01772 315078 e-mail: sales@hymerdirect.com) as they have lots of experience of the marque. Guest David ward Posted August 28, 2005 Share Posted August 28, 2005 I have a full roof rack fitted to my B544. It carries 2 sea kayaks near the top weight limit for the rack. While expensive consider the implications should your rack fail! Hymer charged me about £900 and no doubt you can get it cheaper. But they know what they are doing, the correct fitting points, connection to ladder, reinforcement of roof etc. I have to check mine every 6 months or so and tighten up nuts on the cross bars which have a tendency to loosen over time.
