StuartO
I've been reading about an installation standard, seemingly for R67 bottles, which seems to require robust steel retaining systems and other arrangements which would be virtually impossible (certainly impractical) in a motorhome - the author implying that all R67 bottles have to be installed as part of an R67 (Regulation) installation.First I've heard of it and it doesn't really sound credible. Does anyone know anything about there regulations for an installation to R67 standard, or whatever it is?

Derek Uzzell
StuartO France has a requirement that a user-refillable gas bottle be installed ‘permanently’ in a French-registered motorhome, and this rule boils down to the bottle being tehered by a metal ‘strap’ or a ‘bolt’ system that grips the bottle’s base. There are other French rules about the filling-point’s location and fitting an electric shut-off valve - but all these rules apply to installing the bottle in a FRENCH-REGISTERED motorhome and not to user-refillable bottles fitted to a UK-registered motorhome. There are photos of a French set-up here https://camping-car-webzine.fr/fiche-gpl-borel.html and the 2nd photo shows the metal strap. The “R67” issue came up within this 2011 discussion https://forums.outandaboutlive.co.uk/forums/Motorhomes/Motorhome-Matters/Gaslow-refill-ables-thread-disappeared/22652/ and this GOOGLE-translated webpage shows a ‘base-bolt’ and rigid metal pipework installation https://translate.google.co.uk/translate?hl=en&sl=fr&u=http://www.camping-car-webzine.fr/fiche-gpl.html&prev=search
