LPG GAS PUMPED IN

sandalwood

Recommended Posts

I assume you mean refillable bottles like Gasit, Gaslow or a fitted tank. If so then I recommend this site.

I also get the impression that Total filling stations seem to be the most common, but just my feeling.

You will need a French adaptor, easily sourced from Gasit, Gaslow and various other outlets.

Worth checking out your nearest Morrrisons petrol stations. I note that there’s one just down the road in Reading. It might be worth a phone call to see if they sell Autogas.

But don't ask them if they've got 'pumped-in gas' because it's only you (sandalwood) that calls it that. :-D

This Wokingham firm is supposedly a provider of autogas

You might try contacting Wokingham Motorhomes (Tel: 0118 979 1023) as they should know about local autogas suppliers.

The gas is referred to as “Autogas” in the UK, and in France as “GPL” (Gaz de Pétrole Liquéfié).

The GAS-IT “FA-002” product is not a kit - it’s just a single ‘dish-type' fillpoint adapter currently advertised at £8.18 (plus P&P)

https://www.gasit.co.uk/leisure-gas-refillable-products/9-traveling-abroad-with-uk-refillable-gas-bottles-tank-systems/french-/-italian-fill-adaptor.html

Kits comprising more than one different adapter are available from GAS-IT (and from other companies) and the asking-price will vary according to the number and types of adapter that the kit includes

https://www.gasit.co.uk/leisure-gas-refillable-products/8-fill-point-adaptors-for-uk-refillable-gas-bottles-tank-systems.html

The various types of autogas fillpoint adapter and their European-country applicability are described here

https://www.mylpg.eu/adapters

If Sandalwood will only be going to France, all that’s needed is a ‘Dish connector’ (photo attached) and that’s readily available on-line from about £10 (including P&P).

I’ve now telephoned Portable Gas Supplles (located about 3 miles south-west of Wokingham’s centre) and confirmed

a) that they are a supplier of autogas

and

b) that the LPG tanks of motorhomes can be refilled there.
