Mice looking for a home

Put a cage type of mouse trap underneath your MH and keep it baited. Any mice that are in the area will or should go into the trap before entering the vehicle. Because the trap is a cage you can easily keep a visual check on it. The only downside of this is having to deal with the caught mice afterwards.

Best bait is peanut butter or chocolate spread. But for longevity I use Frolicks dog biscuits in mouse and rat traps as they work very well and only need changing every month or so. Just hang a couple on a piece of bent wire inside the trap.

If you prefer a lethal type of trap then look online for a trap box that holds two Rotech or E-Snap plastic mouse traps. These traps are housed inside a box with entrances that direct the mice to the front end of the trap where they are most likely to receive a humane death. If you do a bit of work on the traps you can screw the trap to the box and then run a long tie-wrap from the trapping bar out of the top of the trap box. This allows you to set the trap and empty it without having to open the box every time. With the traps in the safe position place a small tab of electrician's tape on the tie-wrap near to where it enters the box. When you pull the tie-wrap to set the trap the tape will be further away from the box. This gives you a visual indication on whether the trap has gone off or not. To empty the trap, just turn it on its side and pull the tie-wrap to release the body. Again, I use Frolicks as bait and place a couple in the central compartment fastened to the box using a piece of wire so they can't be carried away by any mice coming in after the casualties.

Also, check the interior of the MH and under the bonnet at least weekly.
