sandalwood
Going to Scotland and want to make a Velcro fixing mossie net over our IH van door. Any ideas please? Bought ones very expensive, can I make one? Taylor
ColinM50
Loads for sale, just google mosquito netting then hot glue velcro to the edges and the frame and Robert is your mothers brother https://www.google.co.uk/search?source=hp&ei=17iCXMiKD4jeauu5hJgN&q=mosquito+net&oq=mosquit&gs_l=psy-ab.1.1.0l2j0i131j0l7.1988.5042..10997...0.0..0.67.477.9......0....1..gws-wiz.....0.MLfUFZ-UAQ8 Even better, for £2.49 there's this one ready done. I'm sure you don't consider that expensive do you? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LARGE-WINDOW-SCREEN-MESH-NET-FLY-INSECT-BUG-MOSQUITO-MOTH-DOOR-NETTING-BLACK-NEW/172280053821?hash=item281cb1003d:g:YqIAAOSw2ptb7BK6 or door size for £3.99 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/MAGIC-Magnetic-Insect-Door-Net-Screen-Bug-Mosquito-Fly-Insect-Mesh-Guard-Curtain/183364066890?hash=item2ab1599e4a:m:m5nnq4LIR8h7ZCKjr8R_JCw
Don636
I very much doubt a mossy net is going to stop them getting into your van but I suppose it might limit the influx a bit. They will be in as soon as you open it to get in/out. We are going over to the Outer Hebrides this April May, timed to hopefully avoid the little beasts. Good luck. Don636
We were in Glencoe last May and were plagued with mossies which were coming through the netting on the windows! I ended up using a 12v hoover to suck them up.
pottypam
Midges are not too much of a problem in Outer Hebrides, at least not on the west coast - it is usually too windy for them! Our van, because it has an opaque window in washroom, doesn’t have a blind or fly screen. I have used a fine net curtain, doubled twice and sewed to make a continuous piece, with adjustable curtain poles top and bottom.

As this, for a velco'ed blind use ultra fine net curtain, for those like us with a mossie net sliding blind, then permethrin or similar needs to be sprayed on netting. Derek Uzzell
As you seem to be based in Austin, Texas, USA, what pests do you have in mind, please?
