Guest trevor
Due to fridge failure,(electrolux 4401 - 100 LITRES,six years old and otherwise in good condition) have been offered replacement innards,(cooling system etc) for around £350 fitted(new fridge would cost over £600). is this a good idea? In its present state the fridge makes ice cubes ok but the main part is not working at all. Thanks in advance for any advice
Guest Pat
Have you tried the old trick of turning the fridge upside dowm to try to unblock any rust that has jammed the flow of the refridgerant? Worked with an old fridge I had a few years ago got another year out of it. Pat
Guest Neal
Trvor Pat's idea is worth a go. If your fridge makes ice cubes then the cooler is working, it's a distribution problem. There is only one cooler on the absorbtion fridges and so remove it, turn upside down for 24 hours, then back again and let it "rest" for another 24 hours. Re-fit the fridge and try it out. You haven't lost anything. Regards Neal
Guest Trevor
Yes I've tried turning it upside down for 24 hours - but still same problem.
