Been to Halfords and was told they do not stock them .

Use this vehicle type in the search and you get four hits...

FIAT DUCATO MK3 (250 / 251) 2.3;2287cc DOHC 6Spd MANUAL Diesel Turbocharged CHASSIS CAB 2016 (16)

The best windscreen wiper-blades I’ve come across are Bosch “Aerotwin”.

These come in two varieties - the ‘retrofit’ type that comes with multiple connectors and a symmetrical cross-section that allows fitting to RHD or LHD vehicles, or the ‘original equipment’ (OE) type where the blade’s cross-section is asymmetrical and the blade is an immediate replacement for a vehicle’s OE blade. However, I’m not sure if the latter blades are available for RHD Ducatos. My Ducato is LHD and I sourced OE-type Aerotwin blades from Germany, but I was able to obtain in the UK OE-type Aerotwin blades for my RHD Skoda car.

For a 2006-onwards Ducato X250/X290 the length of the blades are 26" (650mm) for the driver’s side and 22" (550mm) for the passenger side.

OE-type Bosch Aerotwin blades are not cheap, but they fit well, wipe very well and are quiet.

Got a pair last summer of genuine Fiat ones from Huttons Fiat main dealer in Weston-super-Mare for my x290 Auto Trail for £19.99 incl VAT

That was a very good price - I vaguely recall about £40 being quoted by a Fiat Professional agent for a pair of OE wiper blades suitable for a Ducato X250/X290.

Ther are several recentish ‘best wiper blades’ on-line reviews

https://www.autoexpress.co.uk/accessories-tyres/36172/best-wiper-blades-2018-group-test

It will be noted that Halfords ‘own brand’ blades do not get good marks.

An X250/X290 Ducato has wiper arms that accept ‘push-button’ type wiper blades. This video shows the general principles involved in replacing this type of blade

https://www.wiperblades.co.uk/fitting-guides/how-to-fit-push-button-flat-wiper-blades

First, carefully raise the wiper arm away from the windscreen. Next, remove the old wiper blade by pushing the blade’s locking button down and sliding the blade off the wiper arm. Install the replacement wiper blade by sliding it on to the wiper arm until the button on the blade clicks into place. Finally, carefully lower the new wiper blades down onto the windscreen and test to ensure that they work correctly.

I suggest that, after a wiper arm has been lifted from the windscreen prior to replacing its blade, a thick cloth is placed on the windscreen to protect it should the wiper arm accidentally spring back against the glass before the new wiper blade has been fitted. It’s perhaps worth adding that, although replacing push-button blades SHOULD be simple and quick, that may not be the case if you’ve never done it before.

It is possible to replace just the the rubber part of some wiper blades - this is mentioned here:

The images below show the differences between the Bosch “Aerotwin Plus” wiper-blade that has a symmetrical cross-section and comes with several types of connector, and the “Aerotwin” blade that has an offset ‘spoiler’ and is intended to be a direct replacement for a specific vehicle’s original-equipment wiper-blades.

The lower image is taken from an advert on a French automobile components vendor’s website and relates to a pair of “Aerotwin” blades for a Ducato X250/X290. Naturally the blades are intended for LHD Ducatos and the price for the pair is given as €22.00 instead of the RRP of €54.60

Derek

Where in Germany did you source your wipers? Our LHD 2018 Ducato will be needing new blades soon.

Thanks

I don’t remember.

I did not order the Bosch blades directly from Germany, but through a UK ebay/Amazon advertiser that I could see from the advert would be 'middle-manning’ the transaction with the blades starting out from a German vendor. Consequently, although the price of the blades was quite inexpensive, the cost of postage was quite high. The advert stated that the blades were for LHD Ducatos (though this did not stop a UK buyer complaining that they had not fitted properly on his RHD Ducato) and the Bosch part-number was correct. I seem to recall that, at the time, I could not order the blades on-line from a French vendor for delivery to the UK or I would have done that instead.

The Bosch reference for a 2-blade set for a LHD Ducato X250/X290 is Aerotwin A225S and a GOOGLE search produces the following results

(Make sure you check delivery charges before ordering.)

Many thanks Derek, I'll get onto it. This looks like the one. There is a on star review regarding them being LHD. All the other good reviews are in German or Italian!
