Can anyone suggest a good spot to stop overnight at Cal, when you get off the ferry, or when you are waiting for a ferry back to UK

This has been a popular question over the forum's life-span. If you SEARCH using keyword "Calais" (omitting the quotes) you'll come across lots of helpful suggestions.

Just came back last week, stayed on calais docks over night, safe but noisy, lots of other motorhomes and caravans parked up by the p&o seafrance booking office

Yeah Andy, Dont come off the port you will im sure see vans pulled in in bays on your right, it can be noisey and you will get up early unless your deaf, there is a lot of movement around 6am, but we have stayed many times no trouble. Have also stayed at the petrol station as you come out of the port, which is our first port of call but that was a nightmare, with the large refidgerator lorrys going all night dont make that mistake. Friends one year came off the port and went back on to departing carpark, but turned round in the morning to come off. No problems both ways to overnight stay. Ceri

Head towards and through Sangatte and go up the hill to Cap Blank Nez. Good view of Calais, free camping with quite a few other motorhomes. Its our favourite Calais stop. No more that 15 minutes from the port. Good luck
