We're new to Motorhomes, Campervans and Forums so we're excited to be on new ventures with new people.
We are in the very near future picking up a 1989 Fiat Ducato 'Camelot', well this weekend and all is good. Saying that though we need a space to park our van as we live on an extremely busy main road where cars vans and trucks hurtle along at stupid speeds and we fear for the safety of our new acquisition.
We live near Louth Lincs so if anyone knows of somewhere or someone kind enough to rent us a bit of space that would be fabulous!!

Well with hindsite you should have sorted parking as a first priority , but I suggest you look at storage sites for Caravans and Motorhomes etc plenty available BUT your Insurance company will want to know where your vehicle is kept overnight and will base your cover on that security etc, a Google search will bring up storage sites in your area, good luck in your search and enjoy your new van and way of life, it is a great way to go.

Hi Rik and welcome,

Both of the big clubs offer storage at some sites, try the links below for somewhere near you...

This might be worth trying regarding storage.

I can't remember whether the Camelot (Talbot Express?) has folding mirrors, but wherever you park folding them in makes it safer for pedestrians and cyclists as well as less likely to get hit by a passing van or truck.

It's a mechanically robust vehicle but VERY prone to tinworm so do make sure you know what you are getting as many parts can be hard to come by.

Good luck with the new adventure and if you fancy real freedom to roam, as soon as Covid allows, do research and consider going abroad with it as freedoms in the EU are - or were - much greater than in the largely anti Motorhome UK.

I don't think the external mirrors of a 1989 Autohomes "Camelot" would have been designed to fold in the way modern vehicles' mirrors usually do.

There are specialised online forums that might be useful to Richard.

This Talbot EXPRESS Owners Club & Forum thread discussed mirrors

and there's also an Autohomes Camelot Owners Facebook group

Estate agents might be able to help Richard regarding finding a parking space to rent, or there may be local Facebook groups in which a Wanted advert can be placed.
