Pipe Support Clips

Can anyone help please!

I have been trying to buy some of these pipe clips and have tried all of the local Motorhome/Caravan dealers. Ironmongers and a couple of trade catalogues but no luck.

It is just to replace those that have gone rusty, they are used to clamp the waste pipe close up to underneath the van. Also to hold down heater pipes and wiring looms inside.

Clive.

Hi Clive,

If I was needing something approximating to your picture, I would be considering galvanised spacer bar electrical conduit saddles. Discard the spacer bar, and cut off one end of the clip if necessary. It may be possible to purchase similar clips without the spacer bar. Standard conduit diameters are 20mm, 25mm, and 32mm. You could also consider plastic "P" clips.

Clive hi - what sort of diameter are you talking about? If it's waste pipe then I imagine it will be about 25 mm?

coach2000 - 2018-11-11 10:55 PMHi Jeremy. It is the 25mm that I want the most urgently. The waste pipe is the corrugated PVC type that is slightly bigger on the outside diameter. Ordinary saddle type will not go round completely and I was considering using the cheaper spring apart type.

Have you considered nylon? Various sizes, won't rust and cheap?

These look ok for inside. not sure about holding the weight flat up to the surface under the van. If you get a small sag in the pipe owing to the design the waste water will not go into the waste tank. The pipe is heavier than the cheap plastic they use nowadays.

The type of fastener you are looking for is made in a wide variety of sizes (photo attached) but it’s quite possible that the really large sizes are not marketed in the UK . Several sizes of ‘half saddle clamp’ are advertised on this UK website

https://www.gsparkplug.com/catalogsearch/result/index/?limit=24&q=half+saddle+clamp

What you might consider for the exterior clamps are stainless-steel P-clips as advertised here

https://www.westfieldfasteners.co.uk/A4_PClip_RbbrLnd.html

as the pipe-size available ranges from 3mm-diameter right up to 78mm-diameter.

Alan has mentioned plastic P-clips and these should be a better cloice than metal fasteners where interior pipes/hoses/cabling are concerned. Check out the catalogue on the following link.

Thank you Derek. I should be able to get what I need from one of the above suppliers. I will give them a call.
